Swee Choon Tim Sum Restaurant
2023 ▪️ Branding & Illustration
Amidst the buzz and bustle of Jalan Besar in the 1960s sits a humble shophouse serving handmade dim sum. With tables spilling into the back alleys, the aroma of steaming hot baskets of dim sum fills the air. From a family restaurant to a favourite spot for party-goers, “Swee Choon” remains synonymous with different generations.
Balancing the nostalgia and memories of the location while Swee Choon moves towards the new generation, the updated design language evolved around the line work of Swee Choon’s original brand. From the burgundy logo to the facade’s original tile patterns, the updated visuals captured the essence of how it all began and going full steam ahead.

Retaining the distinguished red from the open call and injecting a new layer of metallic sheen to the branding. Mimicking the metallic tint of a graphite pencil that is symbolic and significant in the history and fundamentals of illustrations and art as a whole.
