Peculiar Matter is a creative studio based in Singapore founded by the peculiar duo, Dandy Hartono (@dumbdy) and Nicia Lam @wontonicia). We experiment with everything design. From creative direction, visual identity, illustration, motion graphics and all things peculiar. Our works are always anchored to a story, creating a unique experience in every peculiar thing that we do.

For @j.icaf we dialed back to our childhood memories, reliving the millennium. The magic of 90s cartoons glued our eyes to every pixel of the TV screen. We religiously remembered the TV schedule, sang and danced to the opening tunes, and stuck stickers of our favourite characters everywhere. We even tried drawing and colouring our own characters as kids as our creative output. From beloved cartoons to toys and knick knacks, these items shaped who we are today. We want to celebrate the good old days and the colourful imagination that sparks our creative journey.

When we were young, trips to the bookstore always excite us. Browsing the pages, smelling the paper, and getting lost in the swarm of books. This hasn’t changed to this day. We frequent @basheergraphic and enjoy talking about books with Abdul, Haja and team.
Inspired by our trips, lunches, plants, and peculiar minds and in celebration of International Zine Month, we present four new publications by Pulped Margins from Peculiar Matter. Fresh off the press at @illustrationartsfest.

In the heart of Palmoris Mysticus Island, where whispers of peculiar occurrences lingered like fog, stood the solitary post office atop the Achilles Hill. Things are not as they seem on this small island; peculiar sightings begin to unfold as people come to mail their postcards. Chronicles and drawings of native flora and fauna, daily life, and mysterious beings are meticulously documented. Peculiar Mail Service dispatched at @klillustrationfair .
