Peculiar Matter is a creative studio based in Singapore founded by the peculiar duo, Dandy Hartono (@dumbdy) and Nicia Lam @wontonicia). We experiment with everything design. From creative direction, visual identity, illustration, motion graphics and all things peculiar. Our works are always anchored to a story, creating a unique experience in every peculiar thing that we do.

Dandy Hartono is a designer from Indonesia currently residing in Singapore. His works includes a wide range of projects, such as brand identities, motion graphics, campaigns, and community driven projects. Working on projects for clients such as University of the Arts Singapore, InterContinental Hotels Group, Asian Civilisation Museum, Singapore Polytechnic, Singapore Institute of Architecture, and more.
He received his formal training at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, and found his passion for identity design and motion. He is currently residing as a designer at Practice Theory and also an adjunct lecturer at his alma mater.
Throughout his career, his work has also gained recognition in Singapore Creative Circle Awards, Type Directors Club for typographic excellence, Award 360° 2020, Art Directors Club Merit Awards 2021, and Tokyo TDC Annual Awards 2022. Request for Portfolio here.
Nicia Lam is a creative from Singapore with a diverse background in art and design. She is passionate about art education and creating visual experiences for brands.
Since graduating from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Nicia has worked across design production, art direction, and illustration. She has collaborated with brands and agencies such as the Illustration Arts Festival, WinePortal Holdings, Katong-Joo Chiat Art Circuit, Gelam Gallery, 32CM, the Health Promotion Board, National Youth Council, Somerset Youth Park, *SCAPE.
In the illustration and mural scene, Nicia is known as WONTONICIA. Her murals have been featured in TIMEOUT Singapore’s “The Best Street Art in Singapore,” the National Arts Council Singapore’s “Be Drawn In,” Channel News Asia’s “Outdoor Art Gallery at Muscat Street,” and Visit Singapore’s TikTok channel.
